  • What kinds of carriages, buggies and wagons do you have?

    white carriageVis-à-Vis Carriage

While some carriage companies only offer a simple vis-à-vis carriage (two-seat), ours goes one further. With three velour-covered seats and a removable full-coverage canopy, our bright white carriage is equipped to carry your entire party in style under just about any weather conditions.

Don't need the extra room of our three-seater? Then we offer a two-seat version that is just right.

    buggyBuggy

Step back to the nineteenth century and enjoy a ride in our horse-drawn buggy. The soft, padded red velour seats provide comfort while the clip-clop of the hooves takes you back to a simpler time.

Perfect for hayrides, parades and festivals, our western buckboard wagon can carry a whole passel of kids and adults.

A bit more comfortable than our buckboard wagon, this wagon comes complete with padded seats and pneumatic tires to make the rough places plain. As with the above, it is perfect for hayrides, parades and festivals.

  • Besides weddings and special occasions, how else have your carriages been used?

Just about any event can be enhanced with the charm and romance of a horse and carriage. Here is a short list to get you thinking:

    • church festivals
    • parades
    • Christmas caroling
    • nursing homes & assisted living
    • business promotions
    • bed and breakfast add-ons

  • What is the Carriage Rentals Unlimited service area?

We serve South Carolina and North Carolina. This includes the Charlotte and Columbia metropolitan areas. Even outside of the Carolinas, we would be happy to discuss your unique situation. Please contact us and we will see what we can be arranged.

  • What does it cost to rent one of your carriages?

As you might expect the rental costs vary depending on the type and number of carriages needed, travel distance, and our time on site. Local rentals are generally less than $500 for a two-hour commitment, while those farther away and for longer times of use will be more costly.

  • Can you tell me more about your horses?

bride with horse We use Percheron horses for most of the events we serve. These are one-ton beauties standing nineteen and one-half hands high.

Pride, a seven year-old black Percheron worked weddings and various events in New York before coming to us. Duke, another seven year-old black Percheron, worked for the Amish in Ohio, carrying folks to church 20 miles away. Matt and Dillon, both grey Percherons were also worked by the Ohio Amish. All of these horses have been used for weddings, festivals, parades and family entertainment and have served without incident even in the noise of heavy downtown Charlotte traffic, fireworks, singing or cannon shots fired in park events.

childrenAlso in the corral, you'll find sister mules, Sally and Callie, a pretty pair for a more relaxed, ole time wagon ride. There is also Priscilla, a standardbred straight from the racetrack, full of life and beautiful pulling any buggy or carriage. All of our animals are pleasant and seem to know that when they are dressed up in bows, they are going out for a big event.

  • What about clean-up?

We have diapers for all our horses, so clean-up is never a problem.
